Attributes"

Fast cast: 3
Inspiration: 12 + 1 + 3
Earth Magic: 12
Skills Set

Stone Dagger (earth)
Ether Feast (insp)
Stone Striker (earth)
Stoneflesh Aura (earth)
Arcane Echo (No Attribute)
Obsidian Flesh [Elite] (earth)
Mantra of Earth (Insp)
Kinetic Armour (earth)

Summary: This is a build i designed for 2 man Farming FoW, Basically all you have to do is keep up stone striker and Stone flesh, while spamming stone dagger when you have a chance. doing this you will take 0 - 10 damage from all sources of damage. when dealing with something that does enchantment removals, if you need to echo the Obi flesh so that when it starts to run low you can re apply it.
Notes & Concerns: This build can be a bit of a pain becuase you have to stay awake while making sure you have your enchantments and mantra are up. this build also has no really power to it meaning you will NEED someone a spike of some sorts, nuke will mess you up since they will force everything to scatter.

Skills:
Conjure Phantasm
Clumsiness
Empathy
Backfire
Ineptitude [Elite] [Illusion Magic]
Energy Burn
Glyph Of Lesser Energy
Ressurection Signet
Summary:This build is an all around PvE build that can stop casters and melee fighters. Use Glyph Of Lesser Energy before you use Backfire and the second skill effected by the Glyph is your choice. You can use all the skills on casters. But for the Rangers and Warriors you can you don't need to use backfire.
Credited:I know I might regret this after some of your replys, but i have noone else to credit but myself.

Default Anti melee build

profession: Mesmer/any

Name: Anti-melee

Type: all types

Category: Stop attack

attributes: flexible
My preference: fast casting: 9
Illusion: 11 (rune +1)
Domination: 10 (rune+2, hat+1)
Insiriation: 10 (rune +1)
can be changed based on skills u have equipped u may have no domination so remove dom completely and pour it into somthing else.

Skill set: (left-right)
*variable (can add skills based on conditions, may want backfire, res signet or anything really)
*variable
*variable
clumsiness
arcane echo
auspicious incantation
ether signet
mantra of recovery

Summary:
This build focuses on using clumsiness as much as posible. mantra of recovery should be used first typically. Auspicious incantation can be used with arcane echo to help manage energy, after arcane echo use clumsiness. at this point clumsiness can be used every seccond meaning u can stop almost every attack that comes at u or an ally while doing 70 dmg (aprox) each time.

Notes: this build has a reasonable wait time before it can get going if u die or misuse and ability, try to keep mantra of recovery up as much as posible to reduce wait time. if u do wind up out of energy with cooldowns be patient and wait for about 20 energy before u try to get going again.

-Me/N
-Damage
-AoE / PvE / PvP

-Domination: 14 [10+4]
-Curses: 12
-Rest in Fast Casting + minor rune

-I use Radiant Insignias and Attunement runes to boost my energy up to 54, along with a Major Vigor and Vitae to keep my health at about 531 (along with a +60hp staff).

~Soul Barbs
~Parasitic Bond
~Empathy
~Ressurections Signet / Cry Of Pain-Sunspear (Mesmer)
~Insidious Parasite
~Web Of Disruption
~{Signet Of Suffering} Elite
~Shatter Delusions

[skill]Soul Barbs[/skill][skill]Parasitic Bond[/skill][skill]Empathy[/skill]Cry Of Pain (not necessary)[skill]Insidious Parasite[/skill][skill]Web Of Disruption[/skill][skill]Signet Of Suffering[/skill][skill]Shatter Delusions[/skill]

NOTE: This build works just as well with a N/Me, but I personally chose Me/N because the points in Fast Casting help tremendously due to the casting times of some of the necro skills used in this build, even though not many points are invested into it.

EXTRA: You can Change out Cry of Pain for a skill of your choice or (of course) the Res Sig. CoP isn't necessary for PvE, it just makes a good AoE skill to have handy if your melee dies and you get caught in the middle of a group, etc.

CONCERNS: This build is very vulnerable to interrupts and *hex removal* because the recharge times and casting times of some of the spells tend to be a bit high and one interrupt (worst case scenario being the Signet) can ruin your groove

**Hex removal can be a -good- thing as long as you use Parasitic Bond as a cover. Because of the short recharge time, you can slap this on just about every foe you can find, and not only will you stay alive--but you'll also cover your hexes before using Signet of Suffering.

SUMMARY: A very simple build to use. First cast Soul Barbs on a foe; Monks, Elementalists, and my personal favorite, Dervs! The enchantments they cast on themselves can take a good chunk of their health away right off the bat. Then cast Parasitic Bond on every foe you can find, and then just use the skills in order from left to right. 20 or so seconds later, you should get a big burst of health which should either save you or keep you alive. Your MUST remember to recast Parasitic on the foes after it wears off! After using your signet, Shatter Delusions should be timed in order to trigger to second interrupt Web of Disruption has to offer. Now the big part. Turn your camera and look around at the ground below you, as it should be litered with dead bodies--stand on top of a corpse. Now dance.

CREDITS: All credits go to me and my two friends / guildies: Absolute Insainty, Brother of Rukia, and (myself) Im Your Kryptonite. If anyone knows of another user who has created a similar build, please don't harass me for it, I give my guild credit because we came up with it without any others help.

Attributes:
Death magic: 12
Curses: 8
Fast Casting: 14 (10+3+1)

Skills:
Deathly Swarm (74 cold dmg to three foes)
Discord (elite) (95 dmg)
Cry of Pain (88 dmg if maxed)
Parasitic bond (triggers discord and cry of pain)
Enfeeble
Consume Corpse (energy managment+heal)
Taste of Pain
Resurrection signet

Summary: The main limit that keeps deathly swarm and and discord from being imbalanced was the cast time, 3 sec for Deathly Swarm and and 2 sec for discord. Fast casting breaks these barriers, and with low recharges (3 and 2 sec respectively) you've got some very spammable damage. With this build, you can fire discords and deathly swarms almost as fast as you can click, with a cry of pain every 12 seconds. Can substitute necrosis for cry of pain, but you lose some aoe.

Pros: Deathly swarm, Discord, and cry of pain easily outdamage energy burn or a flare spamming Me/e, with the bonus of some aoe damage and an interrupt.

Cons: healing is conditional, requires a corpse or low health foe. One solution is to invest in inspiration rather than illusion and bring ether feast. Only problem with that you lose the effectiveness of shrinking armor. Also, this build works best against fleshy foes (for consume corspe) but again can be reshaped to use inspiration.

A straight damage dealing mesmer that no one can say can't help in pve.

Default Mesmers can tank too!

Profession: Me/W
Name: Illusionary Tank
Type: Best at PvP, but can hold its own in all others
Category: Damage/Tank
Attributes:
Illusion: 12
Tactics: 12
The rest into fast casting.
Any bonus stats would go into one of those three, but it doesn't make too much of a difference which one is increased. I advise against superior attribute runes though, as this is a tank build.
Skills Set:
Illusionary Weapon {Elite}
Healing Signet
"Watch Yourself!"
Deadly Riposte
Web of Disruption
Illusion of Haste
Flurry
Illlusion of Weakness
Summary: This build is much more durable than it looks, and at least 90% of the time you will be underestimated with it. Sword and shield are required, especially in the sword's case I recommend +5 energy and increased enchanting. For the shield I usually use something that increases health/defense. It's flexible enough to take down both casters and tanks, and it is always great team support as well. Obviously the very first thing you do is cast illusion of weakness, then heal yourself with healing signet. After that, cast illusionary weaponry, then always make sure you have flurry on. Illusion of haste is usually only cast when they try to run away (which is fairly typical). The fast casting really helps with all of your abilities, especially the healing signet. It allows you to heal so fast the opponent will be forced to recognize you as a tank.
Notes & Concerns: Always aim for the monk first, if there's a monk on their team, you can't kill anything until the monk is dead. I mention this common knowledge because it is especially true with this build. The damage caused is healed easily if there is monk support. Web of Disruption might help a little in this case though, but it can only do so much.
Credit: My brother (Zack Eoshe) was the one who brought the idea to my attention, but his build was an offensive Me/R beast-master and didn't work too well in my opinion.

Fast Casting: 12+1+1
Fire Magic: 12

Skills Set:
[Mind Blast] {Elite}
[Immolate]
[Glowing Gaze]
[Liquid Flame]
[Fireball]
[Flame Djinns Haste]
[Fire Attunement]
[Resurrection Signet]

Summary:

With fast casting, you can pretty much run these spells effectively. At 14 fast casting, you cast about 191% faster. Mind Blast is great for energy, and can power some of your heavier energy skills. Use Immolate and Glowing Gaze together to do spread burning, do damage, and also to return energy. Liquid flame's damage is now easier to handle since you're casting faster. Fireball is for damage. Flame djinn’s haste gives you some move speed for kiting. Keep fire attunement up all the time so you can use your fire magic better. Resurrection signet is highly useful for ressing your team.

Notes & Concerns: Watch out for those pesky enchantment removers. And also, note that you do not have the high energy like Elementalists do since you’re lacking energy storage. Remember to keep a good eye on your energy bar.
